Highly Purified Staphylococcal Enterotoxin C1 (SEC1)
SEC1 compliments SEB studies as it has many similar properties as other staphylococcal enterotoxins such as it binds directly to the β chain of MHC class II molecules and activates a large number of T-cells (without antigen processing). It also has unique characteristics in that it targets a different T-cell receptor’s than either SEA or SEB.
